Privacy — Health prices
Last updated: August 30, 2026
Health prices is a page on this website. It reads public hospital price files — the machine-readable lists hospitals already publish — and shows the numbers we have for a procedure near the zip you typed.
There is no account, no sign-in, and no tracking pixel. I do not sell anything here, and I do not ask for a name or an email.
What you type
Your zip code and the procedure you pick travel in the address bar, so the Back button works. They are used to look up hospitals and prices. They are not stored as a profile, and they are not sent to an advertiser.
Where the prices come from
The figures are copied from hospital price-transparency files. They are public. I do not get them from your insurer, and I do not get them from you.
A blank cell means I do not have that number — not that the price is zero.
What this page does not do
- No account, and no password.
- No cookies of its own, and no advertising identifier.
- No analytics pixel, and no third-party script that follows you.
- Nothing is downloaded onto your phone after the page loads, beyond what the browser needs to draw it.
This website
The rest of this site counts page views, the same way the site privacy page already says. That count is done by Vercel, who host the site. It sets no cookies and records nothing that names you. It is how I tell which pages are read. It is not part of Health prices, and it does not see a hospital or a price you looked at as anything other than a page view.
